George's amps are amazing! I'm totally building a 50 watter when the kit is out, which should be any day now.

Yup, that's an awesome tone. I'm gonna do my new plexi clone to those specs and see if I can get in the ball part of that!

What had been done to that amp? That sounded great!

Kit for 1/2 the cost of a new 1959HW.

Edit.....this may be the one for sale already built....not sure about the kit yet.

No mods? Just a cranked replica?

You have to go to the Metro site for the whole scoop, he sells kits and also built amps and I am not sure that this amp will be offered in a kit form. May have a master volume as well.

maybe it's just me, but that really doesn't seem even close to rockstah's audio clips. i know the youtube compression and camera mic factors play a big part too.

but for me rockstah's audio clips have come the closest to reproducing eddie's old sound, followed by ralle and vic, the difference being, i've seen vic take a cable from his guitar and plug in to the peacemaker and get REALLY amazing brown sounds, for myself, in the room, with no mics or studio magic.

it's a tone that rises above of the common murky swamp of mud and slices with a heavy chrome blade. at a price$$

but for that extra sizzle and lead gain touch factor for quicker handling around the corners, ralle and rockstah seem to have that built in to their equation.

I am not the gate keeper of the brown sound like some of you but holy crap this is the best I have heard Aint talking about Love, imo it nails it.

Gate Keeper of the brown sound

I'm always amazed at how much money, time and effort are put into chasing that tone by people on the internet

yes but the million dollar question is..... could Vic plug into your Old Peacemaker and get amazing brown sounds? I've not heard one other guy who owns a peacemaker get the tones that Vic does on his!!!

Do you think weight has anything to do with it?

Well read through that thread and all it was talking about was 400v and 500 v, then it meanders into an argument about Mojave vs Metro blah blah..... could somebody tell me the non builder-nerd specs like does it have a master volume, loop, etc.

And I said "builder-nerd" with the utmost respect so any builders dont tak offense. Im just not an amp tweaker.

After 4 years with my Peacemaker, I have to agree with Ralph. sah5150 just had his Peacemaker modified to Rockstah specs so I'd say his answer is no too. billybogner is about as monster of a player as they come and even he can't get EVH out of his PM. Another PM owner who shall remain nameless spent time at the Plexi Palace with his own great sounding guitar and the prototype Peacemaker. He said it was an amazing brown sound but when he got his Peacemaker, he has been trying to recapture that sound ever since. His guitar he said easily matched up with Vic's "magic" brown strat when he and Vic switched playing time.

I know when I picked up my '70 Super Trem from Plexi Palace after Craig and Vic brought it back to life I was thrilled with it when I was demoing it in the room. Then Vic had me try the Peacemaker prototype. My '70 Super Trem got it's butt kicked, big time. I ordered a Peacemaker, it was obvious, I had to. However, my personal Peacemaker is no better, no worse than my '70 Super Trem. I've given it 4 years and countless pickups, guitars, speakers, tubes etc. I'm really ready to give up and just go Metro.

Vic is a great guy. I have had nothing but straight up business deals and excellent customer service from him. Pat (mentoneman) is an excellent, loyal friend and customer of Mojave. I think they're both great guys but bottom line, I can 't get my Peacemaker to sound like the clips sound. Period.
