Yeah dimed. Thats part of the sound. The 20 watt heritage celestions handle it for sure. The clip was straight in. Since then there have been a couple of tweaks and its even better.

Dave, how much different is this Metro-Friedman amp compared to my 50watt Blankenship Variplex that you tweaked for me? This amp sounds like it has more breakup and lowend then my Variplex? Killer sounding amp BTW. I can't wait to hear what the final tweaks will sound like.

Yeah its different then your Blankenship. Its even more of what you look for because its the 12series amp at its core.

Damn Dave! Damn it all to hell! LOL Of course I could save my money for the next 10 years! LOL

It sounds amazing Dave. I can't wait to hear some professional recorded clips.

Whats really blowing my mind is the thickness and the bass on this clip. Reminds me of my Brown Eye mod a little. Very cool!

That's what i'm saying.
again, i would think using only one cab loaded with those speakers would just fall apart with splatty lows happening all over the place.

Nah! That's George's demo cab I had at my studio for a few months along with his modded 800 which is balls out bad ass which of coarse I dimed out on that cab ridiculously. Its nasty and chewy but still tight- Compared to the H30 cab it was a touch brighter and had more gain- Never got any splatty lows with the 800- It was a fast response.
I questioned George and Dave P. about the speaker rating and wattage and I remember the answer very well "WE LIKE THE WAY IT SOUNDS, WHO CARES". I did too, and continued the punishment : )

BTW Wade, the Nasty Nasty sounds totally wicked with my setup. Its a great pickup!

Wade, the Nasty Nasty? oh man i have to try that one now too! :)

i was over at John G's house and we were playing his 68 plexi through a 4x12 with 25w pre rola greenbacks and a 4x12 with pre rola 30w speakers and both agreed that the 25w just fell apart too much and prefered the pre rola 30w. tight bass, bigger frequency response. i was sold. the 30's had the tone
so anyway when i read 20w i thought for sure they would turn to mush. interesting stuff.

I followed suit with you and thought the same originally but it handled great gain. Spit fire for sure. I think the H30 severely gets overlooked. Its been my favorite speaker for a long time. Its a super musical speaker. Different amps too but we're all Marshall brothers. When you play at the limit, man it sounds great but you know eventually somethings gonna give.
Tha Nastys! These are genies in a bottle

Wade, everyone is going to like this pickup. Its Van Halen forum. I am going to have to work on the pickup height a little bit, as I have it to close to the strings. But man, its it! Very cool!
