Sounds great and killer playing

eljodon":61her93d said:Thanks! Ambient mic works great for Blues stuff. I just purchased the Royer 121about 6 month ago and I love the Mic, the midrange is great and a good mic to mix with the Shure 57 which is bright. The way I get around phase issues, I record a couple staccato hits on the guitar and zoom on the waveform from bothe mic to make sure they match. I move the mic back and forth until the waveform lined up. The sound sounds thicker once the mics are in phase.thegame":61her93d said:Sounds incredible. Awesome playing too. I'm a big fan of ambient miking, you like did here.![]()
I use an Alex but I'm really interested in an Aracom. The new one is even better? I'm curious, how so?eljodon":2k79kgzf said:I love the Aracom Attenuator, Jeff is a great guy. I tried the new protoype that's coming out and it smokes the old one! It's going to have a couple of features that will be very helpful for live playing. Right now is confidential. I tried many attenuators and his is the best so far in my humble opinion.
Here is a picture of my workstation. I use 3 Mac Pro's, a 12 core 2.66 Ghz with 48 gigs of RAM an 8 core 2.99 Ghz with 24 gig of RAM and the other is a 2.26 Ghz with 12 gigs of RAM. One Mac is for my ProTools HD4 rig, another Mac 8 core is for my Logic 9 rig and the 12 Core is for all my orchestral samples. All my Macs have a internal 4 Tb raid except for the 12 core which has 4 600 gigs Velociraptors 10,000 rpm drives. I use Apogee converters. I use Chandler Limited preamps, API compresor(2500), a SSL rack which I use for my mixes that had 16 busses out of my Pro Tools rig. The SSL X Rack has 2 SSL eq's and 2 compressors.I'll post more pictures. the one you see when I post on the left is my amp rackKapo_Polenton":3c7eyy40 said:Can we see some pictures of your studio? How about a video tour? This last clip was awesome and i have to say, so much better than the Axe FX clips.
It's brighter and you can select the level of brightness you want, the other features I can't talk about but it's going to be great for live situations. I haven't tried the Alex, but I heard great things about it. There's a bunch of other companies coming up with their own attenuators, but I've been using them since the Altair days. I'm getting a custom build dummy load that can accomodate 4 amps so I can switch between them with their own independent levels, so I don't have to bring 4 Marshall cabinets or use only 2 speakers per amp in a Marshall stereo cabinet because the Celestion can't handle the power with 2 25 watt greenbacks. It also helps so I don't have to use 4 mics plus 2 more for the effect cabs.I'll need only 3 mics. I'm waiting for the prototype.Rogue":15j6zch0 said:I use an Alex but I'm really interested in an Aracom. The new one is even better? I can't because I sent the amp to get a David Bray mod 1 plus. I now use a Groove Tube Soul o 75 for this type of sound which sounds better or my Aracom PLX100 custom amp which is a Marshall plexi clone in one channel and a JCM800 on the 2nd channel. I'll post some stuff later once I get caught up in my studio. I couldn't work for a month due to a nasty ear infection! I have a bunch of stuff I haven't finished in which I'm demoing the Aracom Attenuator with different amps.Thanksmapat":9u090de0 said:That sounds awesome!
Great playing too!
Can you post a clip of this setup, only with a humbucker instead of a single-coil?![]()

I would love to use real drums, but since I have to write many cues, is not economically feasible. When I have a client that wants to record real drums, I go to a pro studio since my studio was built for mixing, scoring and recording small instruments.I did play this song live when I visited my brother in MS, he's a drummer. It went well, but I had to re learned the solo because once I record the music, I move on to another project, so I forgot what I did!Bluplirst":1e7j53tf said:Awesome plexi tone! That middle section was sick. Any chance you're going to flesh it out with real drums?
Thanks! That's a nice instrumental you did on your video. I wish I could do videos like that but I'm too camera shy to do them!I admire people that can do that, I would be so nervous!dstroud":10y6luc8 said:That was awesome dude!!!!!!![]()
