Anybody ever install the Metro loop in their Chupacabra or Yeti?

I have a KK and a Metro loop, but not together. For a Chup or a Yeti I'd rather see a tube loop...there's a good schematic for one in Tom Mitchell's book. Egnater used to sell a little PCB for a tube loop for a Marshall also ( I have one in my JCM 800).

Brent Gutierrez put a metro zero loss loop in my hotrodded JCM800 and it kicks ass IMO.

Why a tube loop in a Yeti?

Yeti/Chupa has a Jose Master and I've heard the Metro Loop might not be the best choice for that. There are other options out there I guess. A legit tube-buffered loop would be good. I just need a schematic or layout to go off.

George's loop is made for any 2203 style amp.

IDK why it wouldn't work.

I would rather a tube loop in any the amp, but the KK is a small chassis and there's not much room in there...

You have a photo of that tube loop you installed?

I've heard more bad tube loops than good ones.

I don't, but if you PM me a cell # I'll send you one, along with the Tom Mitchell schematic for that loop.

The Metro loop sounds killer in 800's. I've done about 10 of them and every one was great. I don't find them as good in a 1959/1987 circuit if you have a PPIMV.

for those who prefer tube loops (for whatever reason), there is a nice little board by Riot Devices. Check 'em out on Facebook or here:
http://riotdevices.com/products/accessories/

A mini tube is fixed to the board. I have no idea how long that tube will last or what happens when it dies....

The issue in my case is not JCM800 vs 1959/87, but the type of master the amp uses + zeners, plus some other things going on in the circuit. But this is just from what I've been told by others. I haven't done any tinkering yet.

There's also the solid-state loop from Iron Sounds: http://www.ironsounds.com

And that tube-buffered loop from Riot Devices does look good too.

I don't think I really need a buffered loop, per se. I am only running one delay pedal. And it can be run in either true-bypass or not. And all non-true bypass pedals have their own buffers. But what I do need, is a transparent loop that won't clip the pedal's input and can get a decent wet sound.

I had a Chupacabra a few years ago and I remember the loo being ok. Not great, but it worked alright for what I need. But I'm all for making it better a long as it doesn't affect the sound of the amp (more gain, less gain, added hiss, etc.). With the Metro loop, it seems you have to swap out a few board components to make sure the B+ voltage stays the same throughout the amp between the before/after loop install. Otherwise the amp's tone will be altered. And the components used aren't audio-quality. I'll do some research on the Iron Sounds and the Riot Devices one. I think Tube Town offers one as well.

Hi Mike, if you want, shoot me a mail and I will send you an easy schem for a good 1ECC83 driven loop, which I personally prefer over amy LND or IR F loop.

Awesome, thanks buddy!

I have the newest version of the Metro loop in my "Atomica" clone modded Marshall with a Jose style master and it functions fine. Also worked fine with the previous mod I had in it with a 800 style master.
