George of Metro Amps has always been known to not compromise at all in his replication of all things that are great about the classic vintage Marshall era and finally he has completed the Metro tone equation with the creation of the Replica 4X12" speaker cabs.
They come in pinstripe '67 and basketweave '68 flavors and are 101% accurate to the real thing and they are a major deal to boot.
George has even replicated the model tags and serial # tags, the amazing job on the metal handle enclosures, which are just mind blowing and the complete way the cabinets are constructed are exactly as if you had bought the cabinet from Marshall in the late sixties.
After my unfortunate experience with the POS Marshall Handwired cabs I had, this is what I have been waiting for and I will even go for the Heritage 30H speakers again as these enclosures do them justice:

I've been waiting for these,for many months,hopefully
he'll ship these despite his troubles.

I've been drooling over those for a while now. They look awesome.

Guys they are currently available and shipping now. All Metropoulos amps built by George and the True Replica cabs are for sale, just email Metro.
Yesterday I spoke on the phone with the CEO of Metro Dave and he says the cabs are going out big time.
At the Nashville Amp Show 8/20 8/21, Metro and George will be there and there will be a clone vrs vintage shootout with no attenuators, the True Replica Cabs will definitely be there.
Destroy All Guitars are also dealers for Metro now..

Price?

Can you buy unloaded?

Yeah lazy right now.

Great looking cabs.

These cabs are AMAZING.........right down to the painted metal caster holders on the top of the B cabs!
I saw them at the Austin TX show.

Just read the site, pretty impressive indeed.

I do have a quad of greens sitting collecting dust right now and would love to throw Cliff some business.

They look great. Wonder if they will actually ship considering the issues currently with Metro... :aww:
It's the parts and kits business that has been affected, not the amps that George builds...

Steve

I didn't see kits for sale a few days ago,I'll stop by there and find out
I reckon.

Those look sweet. Germino has replica cabs as well.

Yeah, I spoke with Greg as well, still not the same. A Marshall 4x12 type cab is available by MANY good builders, it's just a matter of how appreciative you are of fine wood/tolex craftsmanship and how far you want to go for authenticity.
Who'da thunk it - The Don is a corksniffer after all...

when it comes to replicating old Marshalls, you bet I am! Those early 70's metal faceplates I got for the new build would fool even Jim
I'm sure the fine and articulate laser engraved lettering provides an intoxicating and scintilating feel to the plates. An experience not to be missed for sure!

Good to know. I guess I would need to see them in person to see the authentic detail to them.

Kidding aside I must look into one of these.

does George have a family I can join?

No economically viable. They had to re-think the kit and parts business and that is why the store was closed. Now that it is re-opened, there are still no kits and no parts - just some mod part kits and a few misc things...

I really don't buy a lot from George, I like his chassis and his Heyboer transformers, me new build has all Merren, my guy uses his chassis, but that's it. Uses his own turret boards, components, etc.
I think its funny that you're not allowed to use Chris' name on the metro fourm. If you type Merren, it replaces the characters when you post. He is the one who's name must not be uttered... :hys:

I have no idea what happened, but it musta been a doozy...

George and Chris got into a pissing match when Chris acused George of ripping him off on his OutPut Tranny design, George claims he was reverse engineering his own '68 original tranny he sent off to Heybor, at least that is the story I got a few years ago talking to Chris.......
