Okay calm down lol (including me) no one knows if the IIC+ reissue will be as close to the original one or not but Mesa did a remarkable job with the Petrucci sig and the VII so it's a safe bet the IIC+ is gonna rip hard !
As for Mezzabarba, if the Apocalypse is anything like Eric Steckel's M zero but on extra steroids then things will be xtremely tough and tight for my already tight budget ( I love my tone tight but I hate a tight pocket lol)
What do you guys think of these two contenders ? Which one would be your personal pick and why ?

Eh. We kinda know nothing about any of these. Too early to ask questions.
Indeed, hence me asking my self and anyone else to calm down lol since no one knows how these beasts will turn out. It's all about speculation😏

I’m much more optimistic about the new Mezzabara as those have proven to be organic, raw and big sounding amps that just need to be tighter and more growly, which I’m hoping this will be and heard the metal mod Mzero is supposed to be more like that

I was not at all impressed with the Mark 7 or JP2C. Both sounded processed and felt uninspiring to play vs a real iic+ and other vintage mark amps, so I’m not optimistic about the iic+ reissue. Imho Mesa hasn’t come out with a truly great amp since the ‘90’s

Mesa in Europe will probably be over 4k, so that's a +1 for Mezza.
And I don't trust Gibson, at all. :D

Yep. Nothing wrong with the JP or VII but compared to the vintage Marks, they fall a bit short in certain things. I'll wait for a few here that have exp with real C+s to give their opinions.

That to me is a lot of things wrong with them lol. Nothing wrong with sunny d or orange cough syrup, they just fall a bit short in certain things vs the fresh squeezed oj for pretentious cork sniffers

I'm more inclined to buy the mezzabarba. I'm guessing it's probably similar to the metal mod they do on the mzero, but with a beefed up power section. Want to hear some clips before I buy.

The IIC+ interests me but I'll likely get to try one in person at a shop and they're more likely to show up used a lot sooner.

The metal mod is tempting. I have heard Eric Steckel describing his Mzero signature as an aggressive and more metal Mzero Overdrive. It would be amazing if the Apocalypse has the best of both worlds: Metal mod with whatever witchery Pierangelo brings

Can you get a Mezza serviced these days. I think I remember bad customer service or nobody would work on them??? Somebody correct me!

I mean, who can’t work on an SLO clone? 😁

I remember Jason from Headfirst had a video showing lack of proper grounding on one of Mezzas.

If I remember correctly, based on YT vids, Steckel is a little lower in the mids. Don't know what means metal for him.

What is that medal mod, I never heard of it? Any demos, audio or video?

Weak, all will pale. No way is anything new under the sun. This is all hyperbole smoke and mirrors. I have more faith in what's already been done and forgotten. Do your homework.

@braintheory well said. Both amps cost ~ the same. For that kind of money, I'd gladly take the handwired/point-to-point MezzaBarbara over the IIC+ reissue. The IIC+ reissue will be a mass produced amp. Odds are there are people who will grab them expecting the world only to be let down that the amp doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the JP2C or VII. Hopefully Mesa can nail the feel and sound of the originals, but I'm fairly skeptical based on their teasers.
