So, some of you guys may already know that the Mezzabarba stuff quickly jumped to the top of my list when I got to try them last year. I ended up buying both demo units they sent to me because I was just floored by them.

Last month, I finally got to track with the Trinity for my band Human Animal's new EP. Couldn't be happier with the results, and we literally spent about 5 minutes dialing tones and mixing mics to get the tones I was happy with. The other side of the recording is a Rev E dual Rectifier and the amps mesh very well, IMO

On top of that, I'm doing a video for a microphone company and decided to track a song using the mic the sent me on guitars, drum overheads and mix it in with bass. I literally threw the mic on the v30 and Redback in my Mezzabarba 412 with the Trinity on channel 3 not having any idea how things would sound. I literally didn't have to move the mic to get the tones that ended up on the track. It sounded great right out of the gate, and prompted me to start this appreciation thread, haha.

I recorded the live drums, bass and guitar for the track below. This is my first attempt at not only tracking all 4 instruments but mixing them too, so it's definitely not polished or pro level, but again, super happy with the guitar tones from the Mezz!

Sounding good man . Do you like the Mzero as much as the Trinity ?

sounds good. howso comparo to recto?
Thanks man. Honestly it's much more similar to an SLO100, but with more of a Marshall midrange, which is why I love it. The SLO always seemed to smooth to me, and the Mezz really adds mids where they're needed to occupy the mix correctly. I also feel the Trinitiy has a bigger, punchier low end.

Comparing to an average rectifier, the Mezz has more of an upper mid presence and way more clarity. The rectiifer has more low mids and the classic rectifier wall of sound low end. Both can get bright. Both can get harsh on top, but overall the Mezz has great upper mids and clarity and the Rectifier has great lower mids and just sounds mean.

Thanks man! I actually tend to prefer the MZero OD most of the time but I end up using the Trinity more for the simple fact that the MZero requires the foot switch to switch into the overdrive channel, much like the older SLO models.

The MZero has slightly more of an open mid range, and a little tighter low end. BUT, the differences are subtle, and may even come down to the tubes. The MZero has E34L power tubes, the Trinity has 6L6, and most of the differences I hear are pretty much inherent differences between the 2 tube families

I actually had both amps also. Not at the same time , I didn’t get to compare directly. I liked the Mzero a little bit more. I had that one first and missed it. Like you said more raw and open which was cool. Trinity was a bit more dark and smooth from what I remember.

The versatility of the Trinity is nice if you play a lot of styles or gig in a cover band. I might get an Mzero again at some point. The Eric Steckel version might be worth a shot. I think I read its a Mzero with more gain and low end but not sure.

That sounds pretty cool. I've always felt the older rectos could use more upper bite. Can the Meza do metal with a boost?

Nailed that Monkey Wrench hook. Cool pop-punk tones, very early 00's vibes. Good times!

For sure. The right boost, though. Really needs something to tighten the low end properly. The sd1 does the trick extremely well with this amp though, and unlike the recto, the gain doesn't mud up once it finally gets saturated. I really like the rectifier after years of struggling with it, but the Mezzabarba was instant love for me

I was going for a Menzingers vibe but it def turned out really close to monkey wrench haha

The Trinity definitely needs a boost to tighten up the low end. It's why I ultimately had to let that amp go, I could just never get the low end to sound and feel like I wanted even with eq's, OD's etc... Wish I could have tried the SD1.

Build on that thing was incredible but and I wanted to keep it bad, but in the end no matter what I did with several OD's, EP Booster, eq in the front and loop I could just never dial out the round low end.
