IMHO he wasn't a chomo.

He missed out on his childhood, having been thrust into the limelight and a professional-performance rut very-early-on.

It makes sense to me that he therefore tried to hold onto / reinstate / re-experience a childhood of sorts by surrounding himself with kids and an environment of "wonder".

It's not rocket science; this is a known phenomenon.

Honestly yeah one could understand this......

Maybe he was just a really strange guy...... And had issues in his life in general and just wanted a real childhood he never had
