it sounds fine but I still hear the ENGL sound and I would always want to go back to something more raw after having it for short while.

I like Engls to a degree. The post 2011 Savage120 with upgraded tranny was a killer amp, the FB100 I liked almost as much, I didn't care too much for the AE. Next to amps I had at the time (Morris Perplexed, Wizard MC2, Peavey 6505+, Peters Bodyhammer) the AE sounded quite artificial-processed. Didn't care too much for the Blackmore either when I had one but to be fair I probably didn't give it a fair enough shot.

Engls are cool and unique but next to many other amps I always find them to have that artificial-processed thing that lacks the raw-organic-open tone and feel I like. Engls play very stiff to me too, they're tight as hell and get very fast attack and tracking which is cool but as a result feel overly stiff IMO.

I won't even get into the guts and circuit quality, or lack there of. All that said...I admittedly occasionally consider grabbing a FB100 or Savage120 MK1 if the price was cheap enough, but then I realize it wouldn't stay long so what's the point.
