One of my favorite players and he just keeps getting better with every new album it seems.

Michael Romeo is one of the greatest guitar players of the modern era.

Plus he can actually play the fucking guitar

Unlike ichika, tammy hansen, etc

he writes fucking kickass music that's his own style also

MR has a deep understanding of composition and an ear for writing rock/metal songs, something the many shred clones out there lack.

Saw him live with Symphony X for the first time a couple years back at the Milwaukee Metal Fest. Man, just incredible. As others mentioned, he looks so relaxed/makes it look easy.

Another great solo of his:

Just so clean and perfectly synchronized! Awesome!

Yeah, he seems to fly under the radar for some reason. I loved Symphony X. When I see level of technique this advanced, it really brings home the fact that rock electric guitar has evolved to a point with no more room to grow - the peak has been reached.

I love that solo

I came across this post yesterday right after coming across the C3 head espquade has posted. I'd been lurking a while on some topics but was trying to reach out so I signed up.

I didnt grow up with a lot of shred influence so I'm not that familiar with a lot of players.

I had heard of Symphony X but wasn't familiar with them at all.

But even so, no matter the player, are you saying technique has peaked? No room for any new advancements?

I'm trying to improve/advance my playing this year after playing on and off for 25 years. I'm learning a lot more about what is possible with the guitar.

I would hope that there's going to keep being new players around that are going to try and advance beyond what's known.

Like I said, I'm trying to get better and learn more, but I didnt think we'd topped out yet.
