I put Ossie in contact with Frank Falbo(they sent Ossie a 1300 to test) who worked for Seymour Duncan sometime ago Frank wanted to bring back Mighty Mite pickups and Seymour Duncan did the OEM on the Mighty Mite pickups, the Mighty Mite pickups come out of the Seymour Duncan custom shop as we speak. This YouTube clip is 5 years old but it gives you a idea,I sold my Ibanez super 70 clone pickups and the Mighty Mite 1300 took there place.

I still have a set of zebra Motherbuckers around here somewhere. They're super high output, and surprisingly sound pretty damn good. I'm gonna have to find a guitar to put them in.

Mine are originals, not made by Seymour Duncan, so they're obviously worth about 3 times the price of the new ones.

So, it’s just a copy. The original had special wire that wasn’t was potted. The beer backed at low temps to bond the coil wire and prevent microphonics. The bobbins were non standard as well

I’d think Seymour Duncan did what was needed to accurately replicate what make the Mighty Mite sound & feel the way they do?
If I remember correctly, Seymour was working at MM back then (70’s) before setting up his own company, wasn’t he? So if there is one man / company who can recreate / replicate those pickups as good as possible I’d think SD is the one. More than makes sense to me they are the ones making those now.

I think they called it bondable wire it I am remembering that correctly.

Yes Randy Zacuto was the guy that started Mighty Mite in the 70s he hired Seymour.

Yes that’s exactly what I have in mind too; Seymour was key in putting the original MM 70’s pickups together making them what they were (are).
