Just got this back from Mike on Friday. Haven't had a chance to play it at band practice yet, but thus far I'm loving it. Every free second I'm firing it up and having a blast. when I practice on my own I use a Suhr Badger into a bogner cube. For the hell of it I put the purple monster into the cube for some low volume fun. Sounds great even at very low volumes!

The three little toggle switches are what makes this amp so versatile, but I also noticed that the regular eq knobs are much more responsive than before the mod. I don't think this will have any problem cutting through the mix. Once I've had a chance to play this w/ the band I'll give a more rounded view.

Hey man, that amp of yours rocks!! It's amazing how good Mike's Cali Mod is; even at "vey low volumes" as you say. I had a blast playing it and was floored how well it sustained notes at that "very low volume".

Turn it up and look out

Enjoy your new amp!!

CLIPS!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunatley I'm not set up to provide clips. This amp is a real blast to play. I still need to play it w/ the band and get to know it a bit more, but so far I'm more than happy with this amp.

The purple JMP has got some really big shoes to fill. I have a Cameron CCV-100. Love the Cameron, but I'm becoming reluctant to gig w/ it at some of the dive bars we play at. It's quite possible that the CCV will be valuable in the future. Maybe so maybe not, but was a good enough excuse for a gear whore like me to look into another amp.

The Fortin has that special something going on in the mids just like the CCV has that special something in the mids. I'm not at a point were I can compare the two, just know that Mark and Mike are incredibly gifted at their respective crafts.

If the Purple JMP can hold its own and be the big dog I'm hoping it will be, I will be dragging this amp to every shit hole I can.

Nice dude! Yea im in the exact same shoes your in honestly. Right now my band is playing smaller clubs and stuff and I really can't justify bringing out the ccv. I absolutely love the Aldrich mod i have, but it has huge shoes to fill compared to the ccv. I'm thinking ecstasy... not sure yet, i need something that has more headroom, i was thinking Herbert but from what everyone tells me they don't really move air and are over priced... Not sure!

Enjoy that amp !

Awesome!!!! Congrats on getting your amp back Bob, Mike's work really is some of the best you will ever come across :)

I agree the mini switches really allow you to dial in a lot of tones, im sure you will most likely find a combination that you like the most.. but then whenever you want to go for a different type of tone, all you have to do is mess with the switches again  Its so easy to dial in a killer sound with the Cali Mod!
