Tightest amp with tone I've played.

Try and get a ceriatone to do that chug at 1:20
That was KILLER. Great playing and tone.

my fortin cali is pure 80's thrash in a box.
dude knows his shit is a nice guy and you know you are going to get your amp back in a timely manner.

I am the Vice President of Boutique Amps Distribution which is where, among many other things, the Friedman amps are being built.

I usually NEVER chime in on any threads - we leave it up to each brand we work with to communicate with their audience. On this occasion I want to chime in to clear some things up.

1) Bogner Uberschall pedal uses a switch by Carling which are made in Mexico - not China. And they are expensive!

2) Friedman amps are 100% assembled here in our factory. The reason we use "assembled" rather than "made" is because too many parts such as resistors etc. come from overseas (like every other piece of electronics made in the world). With that said each and every part of the amp is populated by hand right here in our factory. Each cabinet is cut, assembled and vinyled right here. In fact we cut and print each front panel, rear panel and logo right here. The chassis are USA made by Robert F Chapman, transformers from Heyboer and Magnetic Components and we are even looking at some USA made capacitors that just came available. Each HAND MADE amp is assembled here and Dave is here several times a week checking each and every amp (and he signs each chassis). We have one of the most talented, hardest working teams, that is dedicated to USA manufacturing.

My family has spent millions of dollars on building and maintaining US manufacturing and so I take some offense when certain brands we are partners with are being misrepresented.

But the proof is in the pudding so I welcome you anytime, Monday through Friday from 10am-4pm to come by and we would be happy to take you for a tour. Just ask for Todd or Ray. I think you will love what you see and how our dedicated, hard working team goes about doing the business of making some of the best amplifiers and cabinets in the world.

Thank you EVERYONE for supporting the brand partners we work with and please come out to NAMM - booth 5466 to meet us all. My team, again right here in our factory, built a booth called "AMPTOWN" and it actually is a mini town.

Happy New Year to you all....

If amptown is really a mini town, where is the metal dive bar? I'm looking for hookers and blow.

I'll just add to the conversation that Mike is also a badass player who could blow the doors off 95% of us in a headcutting dual.
Just sayin ;)

Do they need a band?

Really should have thought about a Dive Bar facade. Shit maybe next year.

Mailman and I would consider it an honor to dress up for the tranny hooker gig for passes to NAMM. Imagine the press you would get with us doing demos of the Phil X head. Just saying....

To all the designers, builders and modders like you and Fortin, Diezel, Rhodes, et all...thanks for giving people like me the tones we always wanted and the customer service so very lacking in this day and age. I think your stuff is worth every penny of my hard earned money.

I LOVE mine. Worth EVERY FUCKING PENNY.

which mod was this one, very versatile in terms of range. I see what you mean.

I will say it once again. My 5153 50 watt delivers in spades. I can cover all the music my band plays from Hendrix, Zeppelin, Sabbath, ACDC, Slayer, AIC and on and on.

No mods needed, the 5153 50 will always deliver even on Sundays.

Thanks for the response Metalmaniacs93 . The Cali sounds like pure 80's metal bliss while the all of the Killer Kali++ clips sounds like modern drop tuned chug . Love sound of the Cali but it's not listed on Fortin's site as an available mod .
I think the Jose/Cali are kinda one and the same, but ask Mike to be sure.

I belive the Jose that Mike is offering is the Joe Holmes/Sykes original Jose with the option of the Joe Holmes insert loop, which is not the same as the Cali. The KK++ can do 80s just fine. The Cali has the two SAT switches but with the 4th gain stage you do not need it. I very rarely use it and the 4th gain sounds and feels much better IMO.

Aaaand we're happy for ya. I've had at least 25 amps that have been waaay better than the 2 5153 50w that I've had, and returned. But its cool you found your tone!

Back in '09, Fortin modded my SLP with the Cali mod, and it was my #1 for 4 years. The 5153 50 watt that I had lasted for, oh around 3-4 months. No comparison...... :D

Once you go Fortin, you never go back.....at least not to a 5153.

That Fortin Jose mod sounds pretty darn good in that video on his website  what state is he in?

I think he may have gotten one of Joe Holme's Arrendondo mods and blueprinted it
