Mini Avatars?

I noticed that a miniature version of my Avatar is connected to those of others in the thread listings. I assume that happens for threads you’ve posted in. True? Is that relatively new or am I just oblivious

I actually rely on them for new-post notifications 'cause for some strange reason I get all notifications from OTC but only some from the main sub-forum.

Admin can't explain it but it's been happening for maybe a couple o' years now.

Point being that I recommend that as you scroll through the list of new-posts threads, you keep an eye out for your avatar in case you didn't receive the relevant notification/s. This is easy 'cause it should stand out nicely due to the fact that others' mini avatars are not present, only your own.

Gonna move this to the feedback section 'cause it may be helpful and at any rate relates to forum functionality.

Is that maybe because nicki you are supermod of OTC and the mods of mains are round robin? Don't care - just asking/helping

Don't know what you mean by round robin but I'm supermod overall so the OTC notifications shouldn't behave any differently from those from elsewhere.

As I said, it's got admin stuffed and it's dragged on for quite a while. Thanks to the mini-avatar thing 'though, there's a workaround so I'm really not-bothered. At this point it's just a curiosity I guess.

Round Robin in this case would mean notifications are sent one at a time, separately but equally, to all the individual mods that are responsible for any given subforum. Typically in a sequential fashion hence the 'round robin' term. For example, first one goes to Monkey Man, second goes to JBT, third goes to TechDetch, then next one goes Monkey Man - repeat. Like in a circle.

Otherwise, I can't think of a reason why you get some notifications but not others. There would be an easy way to test that, or Nero probably knows.
