I really dont think the XV sounded any less bright than my EG5 when I saw Kings X twice a few weeks ago. But then again I run EG5 with bass boost on 2 and the module really isnt bright at all anymore if you do that and dial the treble to a suitable level.

I would say it probably had less gain though, but I didnt really see where the knob was set. Ty probably similar a amount of gain if you had set it at 9 oclock on EG5.

That is cool maybe i will put it back in the M4 and play around with it. I really like Ty's sound. Ive only listen to that one song "King,You are the one" and a couple live songs from last year. It would be great if someone did an Egnater/Ty interview going over his sound and gear. Having a sit down with Bruce and Ty and maybe some other Artist that are using Egnater USA made products. I think I really lucked into this site and his pruducts. Yesterday I plugged into the Mesa MkIII and the Carvin Quad X and found myself tweaking them for over an hour trying to get my tone/sound from my Egnater M4. The Carvin Quad X ,which i thought i would never sell, might be going on evilbay. I like the clean CH1 and CH4 overdrive but CH2 and 3 where muddy. the Mesa was still good but nowhere close to my Egnater M4. Honestly I never thought I would ever feel that way about the Mesa. The good thing is the Carvin Quad X is bringing in about 700 on evibay and i could use that towards more Egnater stuff.

If you like "King" you will love the Gretchen module! Thats what hes using live for that song and it nails it. Hopefully Egnater and Ty can work something out and make that module available to us mere mortals!

yeah i just bought a Randall XTC an hour ago that i think i am going to send to pete to have modded. Now i need a home for that one,i can see a 3rd M4 in my future. That leaves me 2 spaces, one for the Gretchen and one for what ever else he might put out soon.
