The Chandler has some hair around it which sounds nice, but the API has a punchiness that makes me prefer it more. How does the API stack up to something like the Great River?

Agreed! The API just has that punch. I still remember the first time I tracked through an API how blown away I was. I just knew I had something magical. I wasn't as blown away with the Great River, although it is one of the best pres out there and one of my faves, but it just didn't have that smack the API had at first listen.
