After my monster rigs I don't remember using the 121 much.

An SM7 or a 421 most of the time all by themselves, sometimes cool to mix them.

Royer is really cool, especially for cleans, but with low end heavy Diezels & Bogners I find it overkill.
 
Yea in most case your right, but i just love the width of the 121...57 and 421 go together nice but it sometimes just isn't wide enough.... lol thats what she said ?
 
I killed many a 121 in my days. Not for me, I think I play to loud. I had AEAs, Royers, RCA's and Fathead II's. Done with ribbons for good, not my thing.

differences were that the thick switch was not selected and i didnt drive the pre as hard.

Are these vintage or new? I'm hoping to find a few nice vintage ones for my studio.
