mod50 loop level questions for ebtech owners

I want to run a yamaha ud stomp in the parallel effects loop of the mod 50. Possibly a second ud stomp in the series loop. Is the ebtech level shifter the best option or is there a better way or box for this? Should I be able crank the modules (masters) to a higher level? I have the ud in the parallel loop right now but it is trying to distort on some settings. Will the ebtech 2 channel be enough for both loops or just one?

The line level shifter works great. The 2 channel should work fine for both loops.

I use the shifter with a Line6 M13 in the parallel loop. I give it a C+/B-.

It does allow me to set my module masters at around 1:00 with no distortion, but I can detect the tone change (but still better with than without). I'd rather see a mod for the loop... I've heard there's a mod for the rebel - anyone know if there's one for the MOD50? Jeff?

How can you tell a tonal change with a parallel loop since you are blending the effect? I would think that with series you might, but parallel I would not think so...

I hear it primarily in the decay of the delay when on high gain stuff... and I keep my masters around noon or 1:00. It's grittier, not necessarily distorted, just different. I hate using series loops, so I haven't even tried it in there!

I emailed Jeff about something separately, I'll let you know if he has anything to say about the mod...

I hear the same thing when using in the series loop. Once again it's most pronounced with higer gain settings.

I am currently running a Yamaha DG Stomp, with the modelling of course turned off, for delay and chorus. It has a fantastic chorus. Ebtech is working fine in the series loop, no detectable tone suckage at all. I think it will work just fine.
