I picked this guy up a month or so ago, it's been "modded to SLO preamp". It sounds like absolute shite with the gain anywhere past 1, we're talking like Electric Wizard cd going through 4 fuzz faces. It sounds pretty good with the gain rolled on just enough to let some volume through, but that's about the end of it's usefulness.
I'm thinking about restoring it to the original circuitry, but I know it's a great modding platform, so I'm looking for some ideas. If I do mod it, I'm probably looking in the Orange or Marshall crunch territory.
