Hi have a Marshall 6100 run in stereo with JCM 800 i ab'd with an SLO.

Personally, I like the bite and aggression of a Marshall, but liked the clarity of the SLO. The SLO was too smooth for me.

1. Does a Camereon Cali Mod clear up the tone? Friedman mod?

Two very different amps. The B+ voltage and filtering in the SLO keep it tight and clear and the 2 cathode followers are known to make it smooth which is part of the SLO's tone. Power tubes are another huge difference. A SLO can get more aggressive but you really need to crank it up. When you do hi gain mods to a Marshall and want those same characteristics you need to make adjustments to the JCM800 to respond. It depends on the mods too...some guys want the amp to sag to get the greasy tone, while others want it tight for the palm muting or lower tunings.

My KS Friedman is as tight as a Frogs ass underwater ... :D

I agree with Brian. SLO is a bit counter intuitive. It tends toward being smooth at low volumes and becomes more agressive as it turns up. It's absolutely raging around 6 (and really damn loud). Turning up the mid control makes it more agressive and gives more bite IMHO. So at lower volumes, I'll run that pretty high.
