Never heard a Modena in person. Only clips.
I owned one of the 1st Nitros.......KT77 model.
Played it for a couple hours. Knew off the bat I didnt like it.
Sold it.....no regrets.
Just my 2 cents.

:gethim: You can forget keeping thoughts of the Elmwood's not cutting through the mix. I don't care what kinda goofy clips anyone posts. Elmwood's cut right on through better than the Ginsue knives.

I'm pretty sure you could buy a brand new Nitro and pick up a used Suhr or Anderson guitar for just the price of the Elmwood. This isn't really a fair comparison, but even so, the Elmwood in the clip in this thread is extremely saturated and has very little articulation. I'm a Marshall guy and these clips sound as far away from a Marshall as you can be while still having a rock tone. Those VH riffs on CH2 weren't even in the ballpark. The clean was gorgeous though.

I have nightmares getting amps that saturated to be heard in a mix. They are extremely fun to play when you are by yourself though. I'll give you that.

Why my weekend jams have been with the marshalls and not the MK IV, was having issues cutting.
