Kirk,

I don't know squat about wiring but I do know that you're going to need to improve your use of syntax and punctuation if you want to really get your point across in the way I believe you intend to.

In no way am I the grammar police but that was one heck of a read, particularly since you've been a tech for almost 30 years.
Bob,...really?..please explain my grammar errors.
I don't spend much time typing on a computer, and i really don't think my grammar skills on a p.c. reflect my 29 years of experience as a tech, infact i can have several people vouch for my skills and abilities,so if your going to judge me on my grammar skills then i guess i lose. Thanks for pointing out my bad grammar boob

Business must not be good?
Everyone has seen pics of the famous afterbirth. They don't all look like this. I have had nine Cameron amps in the past and never has one failed. Even the one I owned he did in 93. And who is going to send an amp to Mark that doesn't live near him? Don't get the point as you are not telling anyone anything new to protect them. If it was someone actively doing mod business, then it makes more sense. Or is the point that this work is sloppy which I agree, and that your work is far cleaner? I wouldn't doubt that. You know posting anything about MC is just stirring a pot. This is old news as well. You have a good rep Kirk. Why mess with it?

If you are looking for a modded Marshall, Cameron delivers the goods. Goop or not...they are the best that I've tried. And I've tried them all....

I read somewhere that Cameron once said a JCM800 with a standard SD-1 is a great sound all on it's own so I figure I would just find ways to crank my 800 ( I find they suck at lower volumes, thin, bright as mentioned in my other thread) and not spend a zillion dollars on a modded Cameron. Agree though, he knows how to make them sound good but sometimes rushes his work..might be because he was behind 20 mods he owed other people from 10 years ago though!

hey i didnt jump on here really to bash anyone and i will never claim to be the best at anything,my business is slammed ,i am too busy i've picked up 3 music stores in my area,i dont even have time to do builds anymore, besides the market is flooded with guys building and claiming to have the best mods, all these mods can be found as far back as the early 70's,no one claimed them as their own back then and didn't name them either{after themselves}yes new amps mean new mods but talking in basics ,we mod amps to improve the sound to ourselves either more gain more clean less noise all of which guys like gerald weber, ken fisher etc had been doing since back in the day
hell i am not 100% positive who did the mod pictured, all i know is it wasn't me,i just came on to show everyone what they pay too much for! if it sounds good to you then its a good mod.I usually only charge 50 bucks to mod amps.I am a player as well as a tech and i try to help all my fellow musicians out.I know what it is like to pay way too much for 10 bucks in parts and some know how,so as a kid after paying too much for some repairs i decided to go back to school

yes there are guys out there who are real good at modding and probably know more than me but i think they charge way too much, professional outfits like voodoo who im sure employs a full staff, are pretty high too but their work is great hell its so good i had to use a print to figure what they changed, but to charge 300 bucks to mod an amp is outrageous ,i can build a killer marshall style amp for 300 bucks

So understand, i am not posting this to bash anyone, just appalled at the work done and the amount charged and wanted to share ,even guys that are good and have a good rep can do shit work,i would always check it out when they are done,i let guys come right into the shop and see what i am doing,i dont try to hide my work because i don't claim to own "mods"

oh hey bob, once again my grammar sucks and i don't care!

In Kirk's defense,he doesn't hang out online and watch every thread or posting that for most of us have known over the years
so "stirring the pot" was not why he posted this.
He just wanted shed light on a bad amp mod.

Got you. Poor Kirk

I think it's beautiful. Looks like an abstract work of art... Actually looks like the remnants of a de-goop and that's why the murder scene blood stains are everywhere. Just needs some yellow police tape and it would be perfect. I have seen plenty of work by some of the "pros" listed here and Cameron's is certainly not the worst.
