Mojave Amps

One of the guys in my band bought a coyote a few weeks back and it shicked the hell out of me how good it sounded. Shocked me enough that I bought a used scorpion, and I REALLY like it.

Congrats on the Scorpion. I've heard some amazing clips of that amp.

Killer...

Our boy mentoneman...

Blues Saraceno rocking...

Great amps and great customer service was my experience. I've owned both a Coyote and a PeaceMaker and the only reason I still don't own the PeaceMaker is that I'm building my own amps now.

When velcro-fly posted this clip while ago, it completely changed the way I look at guitar amps, so thanks man :)

So my plan is to get either the Coyote/Sidewinder or Scorpion and building a rack /w a power cond, wireless, tuner, separate power amp (something cheap and stereo like a Peavey 60/60) and an effects unit (to be named later), and running the line out of the Mojave to the effects unit and power amp, so I can have my W/D/W. OR, I could just use the poweramp to run as a backup poweramp OR for stereo. :D

EDIT: Well....what is 3 dry cabs all around....semi surround? :rawk:

I've been pretty amazed by it, It sounds great at lower volumes too, thick and fat. Very surprising, impressive amp. I loaned my hotplate to a friend, but he's supposed to be bringing it back soon, I'm looking forward to trying it out with it.

No frills, Just tone man
The coyote at first struck me as a vox offshoot, but vic showed me the brown plexi side of it, and when I first brought it home it out-cleaned my fender deluxe combo

Like a block of marble, the masterpiece is in there if you skillfully chip away

all mojaves are LOW gain by today standards which preserves the TONE
to squeeze out the goods you learn to rely on cranked power tube saturation, and then deal with the volume

I've seen several clips of people going direct out from one amp, into another. How are they doing it? I've tried it with Marshalls and it sucks ass. Is there something I'm missing?

My only 'gripe' is that I wish it had an FX loop.

either pull a line out from a hotplate or on later versions use the line out built in to the amp to feed a delay and a second amp for killing wet/dry tone

OR run into stereo poweramp for W/D/W

I didn't know if it would sound good doing that or not, with two Marshalls it sounds like ass IMHO, I'll give that a shot!

i was able to run my peacemaker hotplate line out to replex out to coyote input and it sounded VH

if you run into a marshall, use the effects return if you have it.
otherwise set the marshall clean

Hey Steve, how's everything going mate? I haven't been around much lately. Hope all is well.

Did you sell your Peacemaker to Chris awhile back?

My PeaceMaker is one piss'd off sounding amp. I can go from a clean gain to full out drive by just controlling the guitars volume knob.
This is one of the most touch sensitive amps I have owned. The Power Dampening on mine works great, but man this amp loves to be loud.

Not to rain on this parade but all the gainier clips had this fizz that frankly I didn't like at all. There's a nice midrange character to it but I'd take an actual superlead in a second over what I heard. Especially with how pricey those Mojave's are. Not knocking the company or the gear just personal taste/preference.
