As many as the shareholders that own Gibson/Mesa want for them to line their pockets with money. If they can sort out a ground loop and actually design the amp correctly, well, that remains to be seen. LOL
Does everyone remember that for years Randall Smith kept saying they could NEVER replicate the parts, transformers and 5 band EQ's to even come close to replicating the MKIIC+?????????????
I could easily see that as being the excuse so he doesn’t have to say “go away, I don’t want to do reissues”
That being said in one of the recent YouTube videos he made, he did talk about transformers, and how the older ones (pre mark iii I think?) had much larger and heavier transformers because they had to because of lower quality metal, and while transformers made of higher quality steel could be smaller and lighter, that the feel/attack was different.
Well since Gibson has taken over and their motto is... How many more variations of Les Pauls models can we still make???
I'd say there will be plenty more versions of the Mark IIC + models to exploit us with .... but I'm still interested in giving them my money it seems...
