Is this an original mod? I ask because you tag several builders. What are the other amps that are in your video?

Hi Dave, this is an original mod, it’s a Jose type as far as Mv placement with very unusual voicings / values in the pre / power sections. Much respect to the builders I’ve cross referenced also, thanks!

Thanks Dave, the top is a 1972 super bass, the bottom is a 2002 slp, the large daka knobs hide the parameters but look too cool.

Hey Clint.. yea, I got a hybrid of the Black Sun but I had him voice things a little different than standard. Its extremely versatile this way. 2 different masters.. one on the power amp and one on the pre. I can completely bypass the voicing by using the power amp master.. It does low gain really well and cleans up well when ya roll off the volume. I did send him a donor which was a Metro 12000 that had a few upgrades..
Gotta say our conversation really helped me decide and you were right on the money! I owe ya a beer for sure!! LOL

Phil sent a metro 12xxx , I upped the filtering and gave him a variation of the black sun mod, both of you guys were great to deal with and is much appreciated.

Hey man, to be honest I’m not going to be openly offering mods in a public space, I pick up amps myself and take my time making something I would personally like to play and pass them on, I don’t do requests and it stays much more enjoyable, I will mod amps for guys that are easy to deal with and try to vet them beforehand, my current approach is Jose style amps blended with some of the cool designs of the mid 70s master volume amps, I like em to chug too so they’re voiced in that direction

Nice! I spent a lot of time tweaking that particular amp, it ended up being pretty unique. The clips I have of it are with the blood switch up and the thunder circuit dimed.

It does sound exceptionally good and I’ve owned mods from all of the heavyweights.

I miss that amp but selling it got me out of the doghouse for a bit. This is a good video but doesnt show the variety of heavy tones you can get with it. Im hoping to get another one this coming year. I got a JJ jr. and while its a nice amp it doesnt compare to this amp.

I was interested in that amp last month and was ready to pull the trigger. Unfortunately I had a BE100 and Bogner Helios coming in at the same time. Defintely would like to get the Erupto version of this in the future.
