Most expensive piece of gear you ever purchased?

I got in on the Ormsby Guitars Fantasy run. Base price is almost $8000, but knowing my tastes I won't be surprised if I go well over $10k with options.

$2000 for a 2005 Les Paul Standard. $2k is my cut off. I have no issues with others spending whatever they choose on an instrument, but I simply cannot justify spending over $2k on anything I play.

'you have a very good attitude about this no lie

$4500 for a used R9. Best money I've ever spent. No regrets at all.

Lots of $2000 to $2500 amps though. They add up...

My Suhr Custom Modern. Cost me the US equivalent of $4500.

The two classical guitars I share ownership of with my father. One of the original luthiers is dead now so probably worth a fair bit now. Hand made in Spain. They were both around $5500.

Here is some of my nicer guitars, (the ones I can get to in the closet)
Unfortunately, all guitars purchased new (Ouch!)

One of my ex-gf's dad had a strat that was almost mint sitting under his bed for years and years. I tried and tried for 20 years to buy this thing and finally about 7 years ago he relented. It just happened to be a 62! I paid 8000.00 for it. Way under its worth. I kept it for a year and got tired of worrying about it coming up missing. So i sold it for $20.000 . I was later told i could have gotten much more. Oh well.....

I have two. First is a 1968 Fender Stratocaster that I purchased from Eric Johnson:

Second is my Gil Yaron 1959 Les Paul(on the right):

59 Les Paul jr and 65 sg custom both 4K range. These guitars save me a lot of time lusting on ebay so money well spent.

Not sure the pic will work, but my Jon Hill custom piece, based loosely off of Reb's voyager although I think at the time I had it built he had been with Suhr for awhile(the amp is something the photographer found and photoshopped in as a surprise)

Slightly off topic but I use to buy alot of expensive gear and guitars ($1800 - $2500) . yes back then that was expensive .In todays market thats not that high . However in todays economy to me its still high as hell .
