Most rewarding lick/solo/song?

A long time ago I learned Far Beyond the Sun all the way through. Took quite a while. Had it down without having to think about it. That was cool. Not my thing these days, but it was a huge challenge and I'm glad I did it.

Eruption was cool. Did that years ago.

There was also this little solo thingy in Little Savage that I was obsessed with so I learned it. Did Black Star as well.

Most of the Screaming for Vengeance album. That thing is so full of badass riffs it's insane.

Pretty much the whole Back in Black album at one time.

I also loved so many Maiden, Dio, Priest, Accept, Purple riffs that I learned many of those.

There's a really cool lick in Die to Live by Steve Vai (Off Alien love secrets) that I love to try and throw in other places ...
A descending lick based off a "D" pattern .... Just about 10 seconds into the solo section (working off memory here/internet dog slow!)

Most definitely Crazy Train... Always been a huge Randy fan and when I was able to get that down when I was younger I knew I could learn any solo (... Ya, until I heard Steve Vai play >.>)

It's also most rewarding cause it's the song I play when I audition and can play the best so it's my "impressive" song when I audition
Crazy Train for me too, but not the solo, that descending fill after the first chorus. So hard to make it sound right.

Glasgow Kiss by Petrucci. Played it for my Senior recital back in college.

I need to start practicing more. :aww:

I'll have to throw out another vote for Crazy Train. Although it wasn't the first solo that I learned, it was the first time that I felt like I had "arrived" to some degree. It's still a set-list regular for me whenever I'm in a hard rock band (or sitting in).

Ozzy/Randy- Revelation Mother Earth still play it everyday

Speaking of Rhoads... That wouldn't be a Randy Rhoads Marshall as your avatar would it? Because if so and that is you showing you actually own one, we'd have some serious issues... The main being jealousy...
