How the hell do you hook this up to marshall 4x12?? Unless there's something wrong with it, I can't get any sound other than a strange humming from it. I'm going out of the axe-fx into the line ins on the amp. And the cab is hooked up in stereo to the speaker inputs??

Axe output to in A and In B, speaker from Speaker A+B done.

that's how I have it set up...getting no sound other than MAJOR popping and humming. The knobs are scratchy as all hell too.

What happens when you just plug a cable in and touch the end? Both sides dead?

the humming/popping is almost constant but I'm not hearing anything when touching either ends.

Hmmmm....sounds like an unhappy MV962. Trip to the tech may be in order...

screw that...I just got this in off ebay. Already contacted the seller. I was going to sell it anyway because I like the Carvin I bought last week since this didn't arrive in time. I turned both channels all the way up and the axe up to like 10 oclock and got a VERY faint noise when tapping the guitar cable.

Kage just had this same shit happen to him with a Carvin Poweramp that he traded a guy for. It seems as if this is a common occurence lately! I was worried about my Tube power-amp screwing up on me but it seems as if its just the luck of the draw regardless!!

Man its a good job you ended up grabbing that Carvin for your gig and didnt rely on using the Mosvalve... This woulda been a serious headache last minute.

Hopefully you can get a refund from the seller... or atleast have him cover the cost of fixing it, and then just sell it.

Not what I was telling you to do...unplug the Axe and tap the cable end that connects the Axe to the MV.

I did...same problem....have to turn it up to almost full to hear anything...other than the majorly loud humming/popping when turning the knobs.

I owned one as well, second hand. The second channel did the same thing you describe, had to really spray the pot with contact cleaner and turn the knob back and forth many times before I was able to get any sound. I never could get channel two's volume sweep to work in it's entire range, could only find one spot where I could get any audible volume.

I'll give that a try and see what happens in a bit.

Was this the super clean one on ebay that sold for around $235? If so, I was bidding on it too. I still love my Carvin DCM150 though.

no, it was a buy it now.

Well the contact cleaner at least got me some sound. I had to spray a shitload on the pots though. It sounds pretty good with the axe but I prefer the wattage of the carvin...the carvin sounds beefier too.
