Motor City Pickups Jerry Cantrell Signature model info?

I snagged a used set and was wondering if anybody has used them or knows anything about them.
The seller says they read 8.25k for the bridge and 7.23k for the neck.
How do they compare tonally to the 2nd Deg Black Belts?
As a reference point, I have a Detroiter set and HotHead set so any comparisons with those are welcome also.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Although I'm certain Jerry also uses the 2nd Deg Black Belts in some of his guitars.
Hopefully someone better informed than I can clarify this.

He uses the 2nd Degree BB's in the Les Pauls and uses the Afwayu in the bridge of his G&L's.

Are those so called Jerry Cantrell sig pickups the same ones on eBay?

Wade just got back to me and says that they aren't Cantrell sig pickups at all.
They are underwound 2nd Degree Black Belts. Dammit!
Ah well, I've always been curious about them. So it'll be nice to hear them in action.
I just hope they aren't too polite for my tastes.

I have 2 sets of 2DBB's from Wade. The bridges are over-wound with reading of around 13-14K. They are in my Les Paul's and sound fantastic. Similar in taste to a SD JB but fatter.

I think you are thinking of the Afwayu. That's wound to around 15k and is similar to the JB. The 2nd DBB's are overwound PAFs, around 8.8k.
Unless Wade has changed his spec for the 2nd Degrees.

My Afwayu bridge measures 15K+ (I don't recall the exact measurement) and around 10K for the neck.

I wonder if your set is an Afwayu bridge and an 2nd Degree BB neck? Hummm...Maybe Wade has change the spec.
Anyway...Wade makes killer pickups! It doesn't matter which pickups you have, I'm sure they sound fantastic.

I heard back from Wade after I had purchased the pickups. He told me that they were underwound 2nd Degree Black Belts.
No big deal, as I've always been curious about the 2nd Degree Black Belts so it'll be cool to experience them for myself.
I'll report back and provide some clips as soon as they are installed.

I almost snagged those for my LP, suspecting that the "Cantrell" pups were just 2ndDBBs. I bet they'll sound great. Congrats!
