musicians friend frustration

So i call musicians friend today to order a evh 5153 stealth head only , they have it in stock no problem, gave me a nice discount. Great, so i say i'll take it. then the fun began. free shipping became 41.00 to which i inquired as to why. well it weighs 98 pounds and we will only ship freight. i tell the salesman that you have it mistaken for the cab, which mind you does ship for free as per website and the salesman. I am told nope that is what the system says and i can't over-ride the system. I live in rural america so freight is a terrible option and i want it to go ups, nope can't freight only. so i cancel the order and call sweetwater, but they are not in stock.

so i go online with musicians friend to talk to a customer service person to tell them, hey your system is wrong and forward it to the database/programmers to fix it. she tells me that it weighs 98 lbs and has to go freight, ok i got that, i counter with they have the head and cab screwed up in their "system". i tell her that the same head in the non stealth mode ships for free ups. she tells me that that amp weighs over 50lbs and should be charged shipping, and the system should be changed to reflect that. i said the other amps i have purchased from you all shipped ups and free to boot. needless to say i never did buy the amp.

Nope! No discount. Charged me 40 some dollars to have it shipped to me. Then cost me 70+ dollars.. I forgot I had to add insurance, to send it back. So the ripped me off over a hundred bucks plus no discount. The JJs were new and what come stock in the 5150III, cost me 80 bucks. They use Ruby's now, right? At the time winged Cs were 30 bucks a tube. I tried to reason with them, but they bent me over like a 2 dollar whore. I just returned the favor. And you guys would have.....

When the EVH Stealth was first released I ordered one from MF my deal was
$1980 with free next day shipping. I wound up canceling the order later the same day

I bought an EVH Stealth from Musicians Friend probably 6 months ago and had the same shipping issue at first, but the person on the phone taking my order realized it was a mistake and changed it to free shipping. Paid $1980 with free shipping I believe.

for me the were giving about a 15% price drop, the issue was that they refused to send ups, freight only. i live in rural SD and it may take a week or two for freight to get here ( most companies dont have a route and wait till they have a few things in the area) plus they tend to beat stuff up pretty good. they refused to send it ups, i would have paid the 41 bucks. it was the frustration of trying to point out their beloved system was wrong and refusing to do anything about it. i was going to spend close to 2000 and they really couldnt have cared less. Don agreed with me that 98 lbs was heavy for an amp, and it sounded like the cab but that is what their system said.

You steal from me, I'll confront you first, If it's not resolved, we'll settle it some other way. No, they did not make me buy the amp, but it was a limited run and would not discount at the time. I returned it because the clean channel was hard to tame, compared to my 5150III, so I returned it. Loved the amp otherwise. No I would not treat someone in the classifieds this way. It was my stab back at them for costing me waaayy more than what it is worth. 40+75+80= more than those tubes cost. And I did 'em a favor. They turned out to be shit anyway. So I got triple screwed. I also bought an Ibanez prestige 7 string, neck was dry as a bone and warped.. had to return it, bought more stuff, usually had to return it because it came to me used, with a price tag from another store because it was a floor model, but charged me as new, fuck em! I don't buy from them any more.
