Hey all,

I've been looking for a way to change my pedals/the channels on my amp at the exact same time. For instance, I like the sound of a compressor on my clean channel but not so much when I go into high gain territory. Is this unit the best way to change your amp channels and turn on whatever pedals you'd like at the same time? The price is pretty steep but in researching other similar pedals it actually looks pretty reasonable. The amp I'd be using this with would be a Mark V by the way. Hopefully someone has experience with this and can give me some insight :). Thanks!

Skip that overpriced unit and just get one of these.

Oh nice, this one looks really good. Plus it's $200 cheaper and has more foot control options before having to go up to another bank. Considering all the options you have on the normal Mark V footswitch, that looks like it'd probably work even better. I'm not very experienced with these kinds of things, do they have a pretty good instruction manual for setup options if I got something like this?

another vote for the Crocodile

Side note: Try your comp in the loop. I move it to the series loop on my Einstein just to try it and it's still there. I leave it on most of the night.

Well I'm back on my way to getting pedals again after I had been an idiot and sold most of my electric gear off (I had decided just strip down to an acoustic guitar for awhile for space reasons/money reasons). Luckily I came to my senses and realize how much I miss electric gear. I won't be having TOO many pedals (honestly thinking of just getting a wah, strymon timeline/bigsky, tuner, compressor at most) but it'd be nice to route certain effects to turn on instantaneously when I change the channel. I kinda wish this crocodile pedal/musicom had a "mini" version with less inputs because I really won't be having more than 5 or so pedals.

Check the Carl Martin Octa Switch II. Can be had for about $399, 8 loops and will control most basic amp functions that operate on a latching type switch.

Everyone with the Crocodile One Control, how large is the pedal? Does anyone have the dimensions? I'm looking into pedalboards currently and deciding between a 16" x 24" or a 16" x 32" and since my other pedals will be LARGE (Think Strymon Timeline, BigDrive, potentially Mobius) I want to make sure I'd have room at the bottom of the pedalboard to fit this looper. Thanks!

I recently got the Musicomlab EFX MK3 and could not be happier. It does the pedal switching thing and the buffer is great. I've set the function control switches to channel amp channels, boost and switch the Koko boost between boost and mids.

The MK3 will switch 8 loops independently on or off, switch channels and do midi at the click of a single switch. I'm impressed by it. Plus its in a small enclosure.

I would go with a either a DPC-5EZ 5 (http://www.disasterareaamps.com/shop/dpc-5) or a DPC 8EZ (http://www.disasterareaamps.com/shop/dpc-8ez). I was in a similar situation that you are in and was contemplating getting the musicom. I couldn't do it. The price was to high and I didn't like the layout. I just ordered the DPC-8EZ yesterday. Very comparable to the Musicom in my opinon but smaller. Just a side note it doesn't not do channel switching BUT I've heard a rumor (don't know if I should say this) that they are soon coming out with a channel switching pedal that responses to MIDI. I like the idea better than the musicom as it is a switch that always be there when I need it. I could select a loop/preset and if for some reason I wanted to click to a different amp channel/boost channel I could with a switch of a button and stay on the same preset.

The Midi is limited on the DPC-8EZ in comparison to the DPC-5 but for my needs it's fine. The way I understand it is that Preset 1>PC 1, Preset 2>PC2 and so on. Just set up your presets in the right order and you should be fine. I also like how expandable disaster area is. Check out the site.

I can't give an honest review of the DPC yet but when I get I can let you know. Maybe I'll even post some pictures. I do know that there customer service is fantastic. Matthew has taken plenty of time out his day to answer my questions and make sure that I'm buying the right product.

Not to totally debunk my previous statement but in regards to a mini musicomlab. http://musicomlab.com/

For me unfortunately it's not worth it if it can't change the channels on my amp. The only reason id consider something like the Musicom is to switch channels and turn on FX simultaneously. For instance, I'm not a big fan of compressor pedals on high gain channels but I love them on clean channels to fatten up the sound and really give it a good kick. It'd be cool to have something that keeps the compressor on when I am on my clean channel but then if I switch to a high gain channel it turns it off with just one click.

I used my Musicomlab III+ with my Mesa Mark V. The four function switches for amp channel switching works perfectly with the Mark V.

Although kind of expensive, I loved it. Of course, lots of other options too.

I'm a big fan and have used the Musicom for ... 3 years now? I love it- no issues- and it's just a great piece of gear. You won't find another switcher this small that does so much!

THIS!

Love my Musicom, used it with different amps and different setups and it works flawlessly.
