I didn’t mind the interviews. I’ve never really heard Jeff talk much before. It actually seems he was kind of the leader of the band.

sweet footage! that interview like 10 minutes in...kerry and jeff look gacked the fuck out 
back in the late 90s Slayers first manager started tape trading out some really great videos of them from 83. i got them all 2nd generation, but they still looked amazing. my pals and i became obsessed with the show no mercy era and the big guitar swings they did during Chrionics. they're all probably on you tube now. slayer was so awesome for the first 10 years of their existance, but the best era is 82-86 imo

Slayer is timeless aggression. I don't look up to many guitarists, but Jeff Hanneman has to be at least partly responsible for everything I play. Thanks for sharing this, I haven't seen it before!

learning Hell Awaits and Seasons songs is what really took my playing to the next level when i was a kid and learning, probably played along more with them than anyone

In the 90’s sometimes as the band was getting ready to play I would bust out Postmortem as part of getting my level dialed in and it would always energize the crowd just hearing that riff. So it either got them hyped to hear what we did or had them disappointed after hearing 15 minutes of what we did

i learned all of Show no Mercy back in 9th grade (97ish), it certainly got my alternate picking and accuracy to a higher level. ugh...somewhere in storage there is a camcorder tape with me from back the day running through that whole record on my Washburn Lyon strat copy

Definitely the most talkative I’ve seen JH in an interview. Perhaps Ansell’s “gacked out” theory is correct, they were known to dabble in the early years. Lol

The next couple albums to follow were great, but they didn’t have the rawness and evil of the first three and the HTC EP.
