I took the Rich mod PPIMV off this morning. Here's a clip direct to the amp. It was pretty loud, so I ran it through the hotplate at -16db's.

Stock Super Bass, Super Lead, stock what? :D You said the cap values were sort of a mix between several models right?

It's stock '68 + '71... LOL! :D
When I cleaned it up a few years back, I was doing research on what a stock 1971 SL looks like, and many of the values in mine are what would have came in a '68 or '69.

Sounds good.

Have you tried the Lar/Mar master volume? Evidently, it sounds smoother/better than the typical Rich mod. While I like amps without a MV, I like the idea that the amp and power tubes are not being stressed by being run on 10.

I was reading about it. Sounds interesting. I was actually gonna try that Jose master... the one with the Zener diodes.
Yeah I know what you mean about running it on 10... :D
It sounds like it's going to explode! LOL! :D

Sounds great. Makes me want an old Marshall, thanks for the GAS :D

Back to stock...now send it to Fortin.

I want to keep it pretty much stock. Just keep the volume to a manageable level.

No way would I cut up a 71, not even I would do that

Sounds great

Yeah no way... Only thing it needs is a way to tame the volume. I don't even care about the gain that much. As you can hear in the clip, it has ALOT of gain for what it is.

Hotplate on Load slaved into one of your other amp's power section.....no problem taming volume that way. :)

I've done that... This my sound stupid, but the fan in the hotplate gets on my nerves.

NOICE!!! Now let's hear a boosted clip

I did one with the OD808 in front of it. Sounded great, but I can't post it... My playing was just AWFUL yesterday.

It sounds excellent and keep it stock

Definitely... I may try the Jose MV mod in it because it's simple and non-invasive. If I don't like the Jose, then I'll put it back to stock and put the other speaker jack back in.
