My Frankenstrat and a question

Here's a picture of my recently completed Frankenstrat. The neck, pickguard, pot and body came from Warmoth, the rest pretty much from Ebay. The humbucker is a Dimarzio Evolution from a Jem I had hangging around. The guitar sounds incredible and plays like butter. EXCEPT... I recently noticed while playing a static sound coming from the amp when I play and I noticed that it does this just by rubbing my fingers on the pickguard. Any suggestions/recommendations? You think it's just static on the pickguard that I can get rid of somehow?

Nice guitar!

Maybe it's a loose ground solder connection? I'd pull the pickguard and check the solder joints, as well as those going to the jack.

cool. Here's mine. I had a similar problem, but I don't remember how I fixed it! If i recall, I think I ended up using a pickguard that had aluminum foil backing which helped to ground it.

yeah, sounds like you need to shield the back of the pickguard.

You can also discharge that static by rubbing a dryer sheet over the pickguard.

That is a Washburn "Wonderbar"; one of the greatest inventions for guitar that never caught on. It's a tremolo system that requires no routing, has fine tuners, and allows you to adjust the pitch of each string individually. You can essentially play an interval, push the bar down and end up on a different interval, or pull up, etc.... Like going from major to minor, etc...

Yeah, back when I was a good guitar player, I could cheat my way through VH's Summer Nights. The wonderbar is cool, if set up right, you can dive bomb a chord and it will pretty much stay in tune as the pitch drops. Sad part is, I haven't touched it in years.

Well... all it took was a dryer sheet that was rubbed on the pickguard and I stayed up 'til past midnight rockin away in the basement with the guitar. AWESOME!!!!!! Thanks Mudder!

I always keep a few dryer sheets in the bottom of my pants legs, just in case....
