Myles Kennedy..am I the only one who can`t stand him

He's not the worst I've heard but there are things about his voice that makes listening to him not a long experience for me. Also to be fair I've not been super crazy about the bands he's been in either so there is that factor as well.

On top of all that I'm sure there are vocalists that I can't stand even more that guys really like around here. I've seen King Diamond get alot of praise in these parts but I can't stand one second listening to that clown.

All of it's just personal tastes.... it's a good thing not everyone likes the same thing

Not a fan of him or Alterbridge. That entire genre with their little pop-production is horrible, in my opinion.

Haha - all these people favourably comparing him to death metal. I'd listen to a band like Opeth, who write long, interesting, complex pieces of music, over any of the 4/4 verse/chorus/verse/bridge/chorus end crap that any of Miles Kennedy's tedious bands write. No question.

Time to listen to "Altars of Madness" and proper musicianship...

Not trying to bash on Myles in any way, but the thing that always puzzles me is why so many people compare someone like him to the death metal grunters like those are the only guys kids listen to. There are soooo many modern metal bands out there with excellent clean style vocalists (like the Russell Allens of the world).

I think the dude is one of the best rock singers out there. I have seen him live with Slash and the dude has serious control and range.

I'll say this, Axl can't hit the notes that he used to anymore either. I would much rather hear Myles sing it than Axl these days.

I'd still take Axl trying to push out the notes. He had his own thing going on at least. He screeched vs singing through his nose with that awful vibrato. Axl does suck too though don't get me wrong! I think the issue among the main stream now is that there are less guys who can sing. Back in the 80's there were a ton of solid singers in hair bands. Now, of what gets played on the radio, you've got emo punksters, people singing like Nickleback, or people not singing in a rock style. When you have a few that do, they get air time. This is the case here. Slash could have found someone better but maybe he would not have been able to find a professional who shows up day after day and works. He's probably had his fill of junkies (Snakepit singer, Wheland etc..) and didn't want to deal with it anymore.

Listen to his band from pre Alter Bridge called Mayfield Four, listen to the song Summergirl and White Flag, it may change your mind about him. Or maybe not!

His technical proficiency is great. Its his timbre and vibrato. Which I kinda agree with. Although I didn't think the RNRHOF performance was bad. In fact, I thought Myles did better than Slash. Slash payed like he was nervous and you can hear it in his solo's.

GnR is weird because no one sounds great singing it except for Axl IMO.

One of thee best frontmen and singers in todays rock music scene. Also a very humble and nice guy.. Huge range, control, and ability. Hope he and Alter Bridge are around for a LONG time

I am not a fan of this genre of music either but I only like Alterbridge because of Myles. I would not go and see them unless it was free!!!!
