Any reasons other then heat for the 1U space above the Atomic?

Love to read an independend A/B test against the GT800FX.

Have fun with it and enjoy!

To my knowledge there are no 5U racks, thus the blank space. Plus its a good idea to have a space or 2 above a power amp if you can.

I hope we can get some clips of this rig soon, it looks killer.

Probably no specific reason, but since he has an open space might as well let the element that heats up the most have some breathing room. I have 2 empty spaces in my rack and both are atop and below my power amp.

Nice. Any noticeable difference with that set up vs. using the Axe with a VHT 2/50/2? That Atomic is a much cheap alternative.

I have no problem saying the Atomic can hang(and more) with the VHT..easily. It is also incredibly quiet at idle. When I first hooked it up I had the vol on one channel at about 11 o'clock. I actually thought there was a problem because there was NO hiss or buzz..zero coming from my speakers, my ext hard drive on the desk was the loudest thing in the room. I hit a chord thinking it wasn't on and I thought I lost my gonads it was so loud. Scared the crap out of me lol.
Tons and tons of headroom. It surprised me how loud it was.
The Atomic sports a very robust enclosure, sounds and looks great. Nice features like front panel bias and fuse holders. Tom has a winner here.

Really like the look of that Atomic rackmount power amp. Has it been designed solely for modellers or will it work equally well with any preamp? I'm deliberating on which poweramp I want to pair up with my Mako MAK4....

I just used loading down a baby Marshall 18 watter, and it's dope for that.
