So I just got this one today directly from Eric. Sounds off the charts incredible! It's loud as hell though...what's the best attenuator on the market right now?

geez... congratulations! can you post a clip of it? how much gain is available and at what volume settings etc? Looks beautiful

DR Z Air Brake seems cool.

I had a chance to meet Eric on the Experience Hendrix tour.

That amp is pristine.

Show us some guts.

Nice! Reamp devices like the power station seem popular.

Had the Z Air Break for a few days.
Took it back because I was hearing just enough tone loss to piss me off.
Ended up using a speaker jack for a PPIMV

Damn that looks cherry! I hastily clicked the modded Marshall link below and thought holy shit, no way.

EDIT: I have an Airbrake and imo you have two choices with it:
1) Attenuate heavily and pay a HEFTY price in tone
2) Don't pay the hefty price in tone but attenuate so little it wasn't even worth the trouble

Or actually three:
C) Use it as a dummy load when scoping your amp (the only reason I still have mine)

Sweet acquisition. Congrats!

Hands down, the Badcat Unleash. Nice size and great features. Effects loop and two footswitchable volumes for lead boost. Sounds perfect with my 2204.

I had a Fryette Power Station and dumped it for the Unleash. Did not like the sound of it, and that thing was way huge and heavy. Unleash sounds infinitely better...

Congrats! I also have a '69 Super Lead from EJ, but I bought it thru a shop in Austin.

I am shocked at how much I like it with [GASP] a V30 cab.

So far beyond badass. Congrats man, that is an amazing amp

Man.... I have tears.. Coolest amp score ever!
It looks brand new

Damn that's awesome! Eric is in my top 3 guitarists of all time. I have every album and never pick up a guitar without pumping out some EJ runs. Did he sign it? Is it modded or stock? I'm assuming stock, but I know EJ is real savvy about gear down to the waveforms and electronic components.

Congrats on the score! Looks perfect. My experience with the Unleash was good, added a loop to a Cameron Aldrich I had...but I could sense some tone loss, some high end 'bite' was shaved off. I don't think you can be truly transparent with any attenuator, but the Unleash was cool for the loop addition to a vintage amp without modding.

Wow, grats! Fryette Power Station is probably the best attenuator on the market.

I have the newer version of the power station and it is by far, the best device ive ever used to control the volume on an old Marshall. I'm using mine with a 73 Superbass and it sounds glorious. I have an Unleash also, and it does the trick too, but not as flexible on tweaking the highs that get shaved off as mentioned above.
Super nice score on that amp. Looks incredibly clean! Id love to play that beast.

Send it to Cameron and get holes drilled in it and a pound of blob glued to it's insides.

No attenuator will be able to tame something substantially without affecting tone, if something is way too loud instead of just a bit too loud the attenuators won´t cut it, but the best I´ve heard is the Rivera Rockcrusher.

When dealing with non-master amps I´ve actually had the best low-volume results by loading them down and running them through another poweramp that sounds good without being cranked, sort of what Van Halen did from the mid 80s and onward. Maybe not something for the purists, though.
