Here she is! Sounds awesome. I'm going to take it in to my tech for a little checkup since it's 35 years old. Got this one for a pretty good price off of craigslist. New Marshall knobs already on the way.

Nice score! That's amazingly good condition for it's age. How stock is that bad boy?

It actually has a replaced power tranny. It was replaced with a Heyborer and it sounds great like every other JMP I've owned. I have the original PT that I could have repaired, but by all accounts, it doesn't make much of a difference in tone.

Starting a music store John?

  Sure seems like it right? I did sell my Mark III yesterday, so that's a step in the right direction.

Nice one Pace!!! I still have the 78' JMP 2203 you sold me, it's the LOUDEST 100 watt i've ever had, oh and i vote to replace your knobs.

I wish i would listen to my gut feelings. in 1999 I had several, a 1974 50 watter a 1979 50 watter and a 1978 100 watter. I thought i should just lock these away for a while. I could have more than doubled my dough easy. life ...

Nice! HNAD!

I would not replace the knobs.

I will keep the originals in a ziplock bag just in case.

Sweet, congratulations. Is that EL34 or 6550's?. I have the 83 JCM800 version w/6550's. Excellent amps and LOUD as you want to be/

EL34's! My favorite tube for Marshall's.

I've been looking at JMP here in the UK as an old school alternative to my Axe FX rig, those of you who have them convince me to pull the trigger, what is so badass about them ?

What type of music do you play? They are just simple yet great sounding amps. No effect loops, single channel, etc.

I play in a classic rock covers band, usual stuff, Hendrix, Clapton, Doors etc and at home i play heavier stuff, nothing heavier than Slayer. I'm thinking a JMP a decent boost, phase 90, evh flanger, and that's it.

Do the JMPs have to be super loud to sound good ?
