First things first, THIS is how you pack an amp:

Danno told me it took him around 3 1/2 hours to do this, but there's no way it could have gotten hurt. Nice job @Mailman1971

Anyway:

Built in Decimator:

Switchable from 60/120 watts:

Lots of switches to adjust things:

These actually do a lot to the character of the gain structure.

Points for external bias points, MIDI switching, per channel reverb and the XLR recording out, pretty cool stuff.

Took a look inside, 6 12AX7s and 4 6L6s to bring the heat.

Sound wise, I'm pretty impressed. Haven't owned a 6L6 amp in a while, so naturally this reminds me a lot of a Recto or 5150....it's got a darker tone than I've been using lately with the Herbert or the Dual Dark.

Riffwise, this thing is TIGHT. Tighter than a Recto or 5150. Didn't even boost it, don't need to. I'll give it a shot tomorrow and see what happens.

It sounds fuckin HUGE, tracks really well, controls all super responsive. This thing does what they say it does. I dig it.

Clips tomorrow maybe, hungover and don't wanna right now.

Now I gotta decide which one lives in the house and which two hit the garage...I don't have room for two on my desk or in my office really, and I only have one RL sooooo :bang:

Anyway, questions feel free.

Congrats...Played one many years ago and was impressed how tight it was. Had a great midrange voicing from what I remember.

You guys should hear the new Armegeddonald Thump bass amp. It sinks lower in rumbling frequency than any previous design and can really whip the crowd into a frenzy.

Yeah, it’s got a huge bottom, and definitely sinks lower than anything we’ve seen, but it’s tone is hollow, and synthetic. It won’t be around for long.

I couldnt dial this amp in. Had it for like a month maybe and tried everything. Was just hi fi sounding and I had trouble with the low end. Sounds like you are getting some good tones out of it though.

Told ya you would dig it. When I played my esp with x2n pickups it was almost too hot. Buddy played his Wolfgang thru it. Man it excelled!!
Have fun with it bro. Tons of tones in that one! ?

The crunch SLAM METAL on this amp is huge!
Thing bangs! I just had too much gear. Saddened me to see it sit. Me and Scott been buds for years. Actually grew up in the same town. Glad it’s in a good home.

Great review and love all the pics. Love amp porn. Does have a lot of features. Never played one. Played a Vengeance once which I think is a stripped down version of your amp? Dark, but I like dark.

Congrats on your new amp and enjoy
