That's an amp I would grab again if the opportunity struck. I liked the regular XTC a lot too, but the 20th would be my preference. Unfortunately I had gear whore fever when I owned that amp. Congrats man!

Such a great amp man...total gas killer for me. Can really do it all...super reverb cleans, Marshall (esque) crunch and rip your face off leads. Congrats!

Grazie Thank you very much!

I had the 6L6 version. Easily, one of my top 3 favorite amps ever. I sold it during a time when I was trying multiple amps. I tried to get it back a couple of months after the sale but I couldn't find it or a good enough price on a new one. IMO, it is Bogner's crowning achievement although I know a lot of layers that like the original version better.

Here is a clip I recorded with mine about 12 years ago. Don't mind the playing but I think I captured it well with a Shure 57 & Sennheiser e609.

Almost had one. Went so far as the guy was on his way to my house with the amp but he was way late and kept making excuses.
Everything was legit but i called it off.
If you cant keep your word with me then i'll pass.

Loved this, killer dude!

Those aren’t the original vocals right? Either you or someone else sang?

I had my finger on the buy button on that one for a while. I got nervous because I read the blue channel isn't as good as the 101b. But damn it sure looks good. I love all things Bogner anyway. I am less inclined to try an amp these days because it takes forever to sell stuff.

It was a backing track I downloaded a while ago. It is not the original. If you want a copy hit me up in a message.

damn, i loved the singing! don't need the backing track (much appreciated irrespective) but do you know who sang on it by chance?

its not the 101b blue but its a real good tone and totally agree about selling hassles

Unfortunately, I don't. This track was from the old guitar backing track site from a few years ago. I believe most of the tracks were ripped from the Guitar Hero game.

ahh very cooool! i was kinda hoping it was you cause a buddy of mine wants to find someone to sing in this style so i thought maybe this was it haha

appreciate all the info dude, playing was absolutely killer and the tone too!

I finally had the chance to use mine at rehearsal the other night.

We're a party rock cover band that does everything from Journey to KC and the Sunshine Band to Jason Aldean, so I gotta be able to cover a pretty broad variety of tones/ gain levels.

The XTC delivered big time. I used the blue channel in plexi mode for most stuff, then used the amp boost or a pedal for a little more juice. Red channel for a modern rock tune, and green for the clean funk/ dance stuff. I have a clean boost in the loop for a volume boost for solos.

First gig with the Bogner is this weekend. Previously I've used a Suhr SL67, a 1987x, a Dr Z Maz 18 NR, a couple of PWE Event Horizons, a Runt 50, and some amps I'm probably forgetting, and this is head and shoulders above them for my needs.

I had a 20th a few years back and it was stellar! Loved everything about it.

Should not have sold it.

but....I have moved on to other setups these days that I enjoy just as much.

The XTC 20th’s Blue channel doesn’t have quite as much chew or grease as the 101B’s Blue channel. But the XTC 20th’s Red and Green channels are several notches better sounding than the 101B’s Red and Green channels.

The XTC 20th Green channel is fantastic. It’s basically a Fender preamp with a 100w power section. The Red channel is top tier and takes boosts exceptionally well. With the right boost it can give you as much gain and aggression as a 5153 but it’s more complex and bouncier sounding which I think is excellent. And without a boost it’s one of the best high gain lead tones I’ve ever heard anywhere. For both of those types of channels in one package, I can’t think of a more suitable amp than the XTC 20th.
