Just picked up this Bogner head, now I can see if in fact the older Uberschall is more brutal and much better than the rev blue.
This appears to be an original, not a rev green/blue. Serial #049 with a rubber handle, huge caps the size of tubes outside of the pcb, and transformers in different locations than later revisions, no volume on the effects loop, no external bias points, definitely from a time when there was lower production and more hands on.
From Bogner:
"This was made Dec. 2001. It is the first version.
Thanks CP"
"The pots have a faster taper than the Rev Blue, so the volume comes up much sooner. There were about 100 of the first version made.
Thanks CP"
Now I can say stuff like, "oh man rev green sucks balls, you just don't know Uberschall until you've heard the original" or "rev green?, I didn't know you were a lady who likes Kenny G" or "insert typical slander of random revision here" or, "rev green, who are you a Marty Freidman wannabe, go play some Sugar Ray"
While playing at guitar center we went into the platinum room, it took all of about 30 seconds jamming on it for basically the entire employee and customer base present to start gathering around wondering what was that thunder. Everyone loved it. Amazingly this head was sitting there for about a month! The few guys that had jammed on it said it sounded much better through the Uberkab vs. The cabs they had there, mostly through a Mesa cab.
Thanks Reza for the heads up! BIG TIME BRO
