Cool man! Glad I could help. They're both amazing amps, you can't go wrong with Bogner, they make great stuff. I kinda look at them both as different heads in the end, since they're voiced differently. I did find that the changing the power tubes in the Blue to the KT77's made it more pleasing to me for sure. Enjoy man! Happy tweaking!

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I have a Rev Blue with the stock EL34's and was considering a power tube swap. I was considering going with 6CA7's or KT77's. Do you have any experience with the 6CA7's?

Kt77s made my Carvin V3 come to life!

Hey Jeremy :)
jc986, The EH 6AC7'S Power tubes are my favorite in my beloved Rev2. And trust me I have owned all the Revisions as well as the Uberschalls.
The EH's are bolder thicker less wet less mushy a bit dryer and tighter... insanely Metal. Better than any tubes that I have tried. My second choice would be the KT77 or the El34L's.
The KT77's gives you more Low end and deeper sounding with loose feelings, The El34L's they are more agressive and definitely tighter. Note: they are both thiner than the EH's.

I used to have a mint very original Uberschall, sounded awesome of course, but nothing like my Rev2's. I think I have the very rare ones. They have more work done and parts in the V1. I sent a picture to Charley Bogner he told me that's Reinhold's Mods. :)

Hey JC986 - With the low end on tap with the Rev 2, the KT77's may be too much for that model, as it is kinda low end overkill, but in the blue, I love em. I will go with Adlene on this, if you have a Rev 2, try the EH 6AC7's, if you have a Rev Blue, the KT77's will scoop out the mids a tad and make it more pleasing. Or try em both, tubes aren't too too expensive.

Wow that is a great amp! I enjoyed the videos as well since I can relate to how much fun the Bogner's can be. I still mostly play my Twin Jet more than any other amp.

Thanks guys. Think I'll get a set of KT77's to start with since I've got the Rev Blue. I'll probably try a set of 6AC7's down the line too.

Thanks! I still havent seen or played a TJ, definitely on my to do list.

I always liked running a 5751 in V1 of the Uber. Still plenty of gain, but it seemed to change the gain structure somehow, opened it up a bit more to my ears...

Opened it up how? Like hot ridding it?

Wow that fucker rips! How does it compare to the rev blue? I had a blue once and loved it regret selling it . Does the Mid pot act like the rev blue's? More of a low mid

Yes it sure ones, every time I turn it on I'm blown away again. I think before I turn it on "there's no way it really sounded like that" then I turn it on and it does, every time! To me it feels like the pots actually are what they say they are in the original, the blue pots are all kinds of weird as described above by JPH-214. I still like the blue very much, but it can't quite get the tone of the original.

No, more like there was more space around all the frequencies, if that makes any sense. Kind of hard to explain, but it just became a slightly more 'open' and bigger sounding amp with more depth and dimension to it.

Hmm, hard to understand, maybe I'll just have to try one and see, seems like nothing but lowballers and dreamers are trying to buy my rev blue, mixing it up a bit might p be good

I love the amp for how punchy it is but I was always partial to KT88's. I have my Splawn Nitro for el34 sounds but the TJ is a screamer. I bought this one from Matts Music last year and had it done in red. You are set probably as far as Bogner's go but TJ's are worth looking in to.

Quick pics...

Most of the clips and vids of the TJ I see are metalish, not really over the top like a lot of the Uberschall vids, hard to tell if it would be for me as a result.
