20th Anniversary Shiva.

Reinhold is a fucking genius! I had a killer tone in seconds. After 5 minutes I was pretty blown away. Super fucking impressed. The thing I've noticed about the Bogners I've owned and played is that they have the ability to get a brutal gain without the fizz. Clarity is top shelf. The mids remind me of the Twin Jet but an overall better tone suited for me. I owned a TJ for a while and preferred my rev green Uber. The Shiva has huge bottom end as well. I love the mids on this amp!

The boost function on both channels is a nice feature. It didn't need it with my Fluence Moderns but with my lower gain pickups the boost function was ideal. Great feature done right. Clean blows away the Uber clean in my opinion and the boost function dirtys things up nicely.

Obviously I'm in the honeymoon phase but I can usually tell within an hour of playing an amp if it's a keeper. This amp has exceeded my expectations already. Can't wait to play it more. I didn't want to stop playing it!


The metal grill looks pretty sweet as well.

Tell me about the Helios compared to the Shiva please sir.

To be honest I still prefer the Helios. It is tighter and punchier. The Shiva has a bigger low end push, but its not as tight and snappy.
The Shiva can be pretty mean with a complex grind to it, but the Helios is more aggressive in a raw and natural way. It has a pretty unique feel to it as well. I think it comes down to the EL34 vs KT88s and the Helios being a much more simple circuit...I am hearing and feeling those differences, but they are both Bogner all the way.

Have you owned or played any XTC models? I am kind of GAS'n for a Classic. Should have jumped on that one that came up yesterday.
