Mark did a amp I had with that exact effects loop you are talking about, its tube buffered and has a on/pff bypass on it.

On a unrelated note when you hit that tube bypass switch do you notice a change in tone?

Hey man, I don't notice any change I set it so that when I turn it on it doesn't change the volume at all, than adjust my fx levels from my eventide..
