Wow, this thing is a beast. I finally had some time to check it out tonight. Checked the bias and set it to 36. I'm not really sure where it should be, but the manual says 36. I'm running it through my 212 cab with a Veteran 30 and a Greenback. I can't believe the amount of gain this thing has. And so many settings that I don't even feel like I've begun to find them all. My initial thoughts are very high with this amp.

Just me noodling. Sorry about the clipping from the phone camera. Plus, YouTube even made the sound a little worse - https://youtu.be/8hnwSys6HJ8

How "Plexi" does it sound?

Well, I've never played a true Plexi. But, the Plexi mode is super loud, so I haven't been able to really crank it yet. I'll try it at my next band rehearsal. At a lower volume, I thought it sounded really good.

I prefer the amp with a colder bias. 36mA is right at 70%. I prefer around 60%, if not a bit lower. Makes the amp tighter and more angry. Less hair on the gain, if that makes sense. But congrats, and enjoy!

So, about 33-34mA?

Yeah. Depends on your plate voltage. On my amp I think 60% is around 32mA. You can play around with it. It won't break the amp or anything. You can go as low as you want. Just don't go above 70%. I also sometimes like a slight mismatch between each tube. With individual bias per tube, you can do that too. Something like 3-5mA even. But it's all up to you and how you think it sounds.

What would a mismatch do? Is it a noticeable difference?

It came.with Tungsol power tubes. I also have a set of Ruby El34bstr and a set of Mesa EL34s. Do different power tubes make a noticeable difference?

I`m no tech but you just got it , I`d just play thru that thing and have fun . Mess with all that tube swapping later

While those things clearly make a difference, much of the same effect can be compensated with adjusting settings.

Yes, I just confirmed that the effects loop is not so good. I use an Ibanez DE7 delay and a Danelectro EQ pedal in the loop. As soon as I connected them, a ton of my high end disappeared. I tried each pedal separately and had the same issue.

I build mine without the loop in it. Have a Metro loop laying around I'm gonna put in it later on.

I'm assuming neither of those pedals are buffered. I've read that the loop works fine with buffered pedals.

On Ceriatone USA website they used to have an option for a buffered effects loop built in to the amp foe an extra charge . The last couple of times on their site it's not there. Is it still an option ?

I run a TC Flashback in my loop. And it sounds fine. A little high-end loss is a good thing IMO with this amp. It's bright to begin with.

Does anyone have any experience with these? http://www.ironsounds.com/products.html

Also, could I just use a pedal with a better buffer or just an actual buffer pedal? Like this, https://www.jhspedals.com/products/bass ... ck-buffer/
I dont know man. If you are going to spend $75.00 for an assembled board, go with a metro-loop and be 100% confident that it will work.

I've read a couple posts that said it doesn't work with Jose modded amps. Is that true?
