So it completely makes sense that I found Bogner's Mid control to be so effective on the highs as well as the mids then. Bogner's Treble control uses a log taper, so it's going to rest at a naturally lower Treble value than most other Treble knobs at "normal" settings. The lower the Treble is dialed in the circuit, the more influence the Mid knob has on the highs. Crank the highs and the Mid knob still has control over the highs, just comparatively much less.
