Picked up this peavey 5150 II half stack today for 600 bucks off of craigslist. Cab has some nicks in tolex but is still very solid and the amp was recently serviced and retubed. What y'all think ?

Repeating myself from other threads, but was surprised with crunch from my recently acquired 5150 Block Letter. Much nicer than the lead channel IMO

$600.00 for the stack, and another $5000.00 in chiropractor bills.

Just kidding... Nice score!

Awesome price. Awesome amp. If only people would post up equipment for good prices on my local CL. I'm used to seeing 5150's for $900 for the head...$700 for the cabinet....$700 for a "Marshall Amp", only to open the advertisement and see it's a Marshall MG50 that looked like it was ran over by a dump truck.

I couldn't have said it better myself   . I was actually heading to guitar center to order a 6505+ 112 combo, and checked Craigslist for giggles before heading out when this popped up. I have always loved the 5150's And wanted something to leave at home in a corner. This is definitely overkill, but I couldn't pass it up

That sucks and is very common here as well. I typically look at the local Craigslist for a laugh more than anything but occasionally a decent deal pops up.

That's how it is up here in upper Michigan (as in the Upper Peninsula.) Not much gear circulates through here..gotta drive to the Twin Cities, Milwaukee, Chicago area for a "real" shop... People up here seem to think that a TSL is worth $1200 and Mexican strats go for almost full price used and a Line 6 Spider amp is in there now for $500. I don't think that includes shipping.

CL in my town is ridiculous, people constantly asking what they paid for stuff even though it's a few years old with wear. There was a guy asking $1400 for a drumkit worth about $900 brand new today. Just funny stuff.

Nice score--I dig the 5150s--If you got one run a BBE sonic maiximizer thru it --sounds cool

I gotta say after having both the original and the II version of the peavey's, I think I prefer the II. It seems overall tighter and more focused and even though it doesn't have as much gain as the original why would anyone need this much anyways ???
