I've actually had the BE-100 for a few weeks now but didn't want to jump the gun on saying anything. I will post pics when I get back home in a couple days.
Anyways I don't even normally post new amp days anymore so that says a lot. I figured I would try a BE100 because of all the hype but might not love it. To be honest I think Moshaholic gave me the gas to try one since he liked his so much and started selling everything else ...lol
I owned a Friedman Naked a while back which I did like but the BE100 is more appealing to me. Its more versatile , has a nicer saturation and compression. It has more bounce to it if that make sense where the Naked could be stiff at times.
I'm not that particular when it comes to cleans but I will say the clean channel on the BE100 is really nice. It can be set very clean which I like and has a good amount of headroom and chime.
The high gain channel is really interesting. It has a fat lowend but is still tight. Its smooth yet has just enough aggression for fast metal riffs and thrash type stuff. So while it does the 80s hair thing great it also can do say Lamb of God / Killswitch style type stuff no problem. Its a fun amp to play because it has the saturation and give available but it doesn't get fluby or undefined. Its very clear and articulate but not dry it has lots of character.
Im mostly a high gain modern rock and metal type player. The 60s and 70s type tones are in there also but I'm not the best judge of that. I think overall the high gain tones do have that 80s kinda vibe to it which I love but it is capable of so much more. Also takes a boost pedal like a champ if you are into that.
The brown eye is bonerific !
