How's it compare to your Friedman modded Marshall? What do you think of the Phil X model? For me that was by far my favorite Friedman and it smoked the BE and JJ when I AB'ed it with them, but I hear the 2016 BE's are supposed to be brighter and less polished so I definitely wanna try the 2016 BE.

where did you hear that change for 2016? That would be a step in the positive direction imo... that and use Heyboer for both power and output.

Reza lives about 10 mins from me. I sent him pics of the Small box I picked up from FedEx at about 3-4pm yesterday. Then he goes and grabs that Wildwood one the same night!

I've heard the TAD power tubes that are standard for 2016 contribute to the less polished sound. I'm wondering if this accounts for the change rather than a circuit mod. Dave just recently installed a secret little switch on my BE that makes it a lot more raw Marshall. KILLER switch

People say they are so close that you don't need both, but I disagree. I have both and they are different IMO.

BE gets a lot more gain. The SAT will add diode clipping, but that's different than an extra tube gain stage in sound and feel.

That's just my opinion, but I would definitely suggest playing both and deciding.

Congratulations on the Smallbox. I may do the Wildwood mod someday, but I love mine stock and I am not sure if I want to change anything. I have a couple overdrives that work really well for adding more hair.

I need a video now. Also if you have koko boost laying around it great with the be ch. I just set the level control at unity gain. The archer will sound dope on the plexi ch. as well. Congrats!
