I got this yesterday with no power cord, so I had to wait until this morning to go and get one, the wait was not fun. Anyhow, this is an amazing amp. Some really fat articulate tones in this thing. The clean channel is great, and the boost is usable. All my guitars sound great through it, but my Les Paul with Wolfetone dr Vintage pups sounds amazing. great all around amp.

-nice!!

-dude you been on a amp bender lately!!... I think the SS has the most organic-(good god! did I just say organic?... If I say "chimey"...... Someone put a bullet in my head)-Marshall roots of all the Friedman's.

-I vote for the JJ for best HBE channel-

-good score man

NOICE Mike! Loved every Friedman I've ever tried and I'm a dyed in the wool Mesa guy. Something special about those amps for sure!

kind of I guess, but I traded the metroplex for the ss100. that amp, while sounding great, was not for me. it was the feel of it that felt off. prior to that, I was playing the masotti x100m, and that was a killer amp. everything about that amp was awesome. tone, feel, articulate, punchy, etc. so, it was hard to go from that to the metroplex, they felt so different, the ss100 is way more my thing. and it sounds amazing!

I am so confused on this amp. Bought a BE100 couple weeks ago. Sounds great but almost like a little too much sizzle. Originally i wanted an SS100 but the options on the BE were intriguing. I have 2 weeks ti decide if I wanna return it for an SS100. Decisions!!

I listened to some clips of the SS amp last week and it sounded awesome. I wouldnt mind owning one.

I have both and they are similar and yet very different. The SS is darker, fatter, and a fuller more pushed plexi sort of sound, where the BE is a mid heavy modern modded marshall sound. I prefer the SS clean channel, but both are good. The BE is better at lower volumes, like apartment low volumes, but both are great. I prefer the SS if I had to choose one, its a best of both worlds amp!!! Great fat marshall tone and great fender twinish clean sound. But I would not take the BE-100 back for one, You can find them used for like 2500. get both!!!!

This....

I have both and this sums them up perfectly

Both great amps, but if I had to pick...it would be the SS100

-I'm surprised by your comments on the metroplex, did it have a stiff sound & feel? What speaker's were you using?

Nice!!! Like I said, it's the only amp from Friedman besides the Slax I have ever really spent time with and it is awesome. Chunk for days!

I was going back reading some old threads and it seems most say if they had to choose one it would be an SS100. I come from and 83 friedman modded 800. Its really a feel thing for me. I liked the sponginess of the 800 and wonder if the SS100 would feel a little closer to that. I feel like thats what im hung up on.

I had both the SS100 and BE100 2015 version, and decided the SS100 was the keeper when I had to cut one loose. Then I was able to pick up a 2016 BE100 with the S switch and now find myself playing the new BE100 more than my SS100. I would have a hard time cutting loose the SS100 though- very similar sounds but not the same amps. Sometimes I actually like the BE100 cleans better too.
